Water

In England, water has been mixed with Lemonade since the end of the Second World War. This was a move by the government to make people happier whilst rationing was still in force and it has stayed that way ever since. The people can no longer drink normal water as the resulting mass depression would cause a great deal of civil unrest.

The Hungarians insist on chewing water around 40 times before swallowing.
