War crimes constitute a breach of the stringent rules of war. War being a scenario where human slaughter is not only permitted in the rules, but actively encouraged and enthusiastically celebrated.

The most successful war criminal of all time was General Ian Alexander Karstares during the Crimean War. He notched up an aggregated total of 629.3 war crimes per cubic hectare, earning him the nickname 'Crimean War Crime Ian'.
