Twiglets are ever popular Marmite flavoured wheat snacks (akin to crisps), which along with miniature sausage rolls and cheese-pineapple snacks, have become a mainstay of tedious party buffets in Britain.

However, the history of the Twiglet one of chance - it was not originally one of 138 snack formulae including;
wheat and lemongrass
wheat and topsoil
wheat and marmalade
wheat and meat
wheat and vegemite
wheat and soup
wheat and ink
wheat and vegetable extract
wheat and wheat

However, a researcher was momentarily confused between Marmite and marmalade, and the combination proved to be a winner.
