Shoplifting
Richard Branson was arrested for shoplifting in 1996 by a confused security guard. In fact, he was shopping for a new elevator.
The opposite of shoplifting is 'store-placing' in which legitimately bought items are transferred to a rival shop and placed in the correct section. If this is done with 'own-brand' goods, there will be a commotion when the products are scanned at the checkout.
