Portaloos work by converting human waste into data, and then transmitting the information to the nearest sewage facility where it is re-converted. Blockages can occur due to line faults, but recently, technology has improved allowing faster packet switching and higher bandwidths.

Over 20,000 people are found dead in portaloos every year.
