Outsourcing
While many companies seem to outsource call centres to emerging econiomies such as India, realistically it would cost too much to transport the entire building and hire and train new staff. It is actually much cheaper to train current staff to speak in a foreign accent. While this does not directly reduce outgoings, the call levels are lowered as many customers simply hang up.
