The Nylon Corperation was hugely successful during the 1980s, but nearly went bust in the early '90s due to a disasterous sock-pairing service. Public takeup of the service was initially huge, but it soon became apparant that people were pairing socks which were already paired (a process known as sock-doubling) and thus the company was turning out a negative profit. The comany was liquified in late March 1997 and is now sold as a soft drink.
