Marko Murat

Marko Murat is the name of a fictional Serbian painter. In 1812, the Serbian goverment hired several well-known artists to commision several pieces under this pseudonym for the anniversary of the coronation. Unfortunately, he never lived to see any of his paintings sold, and died penisless.
