In 1787 whilst observing the night sky, the famous French mathematician and astonomer, Pierre-Simon, marquis de Laplace, inadvertently discovered Humous under a cat. Believing it to be the ethereal substance that gives cats their nine lives he began to experiment with it in various ways. Finally, after eating it with bread and wine he was committed to a lunatic asylum. He died of syphilis yesterday.
