Electric Razor

The electric razor was invented by Jean Bic who found that he always cut himself shaving. Although this was in no small part due to spectacularly bad acne, Mr Bic had the solution with his new shaving device. However the prototype, which he tested on himself was a potential deathtrap. On the first run, it skinned his face, leaving him in agonising pain, and ironcally, never needing to shave again for the rest of his life.

His face can be seen in the Louvre where it hangs to this day.
