Barbantuan Technique

The Barbantuan technique was an early method of underwater communication, using 2 pieces of string. It was similar to morse code, and is still used in some parts of the world. Its use was restricted, in part by the fact that proficient use takes up both hands, and also by the massive cost of string around 1953.
